“The track in Belgium was really slippery and it’s also why I decided to go for the rain tyres so early, but honestly that was a mistake because it was too early. The car wasn’t easy to drive because we were on a full dry set up, so I lost a lot of time. The team on the radio advised me to not take too many risks as we were thinking about the championship and bring the car back in one piece and we did it! It’s incredible to be champions. Honestly when we started the season, I never believed that we could be champion! It was a great season and I must thank all of the DKR team and the good job they did. I’m really delighted.”
Leonard Hoogenboom
“Jens did a really good job at the start under tricky conditions as it was dry, then it rained and then dry again. When I jumped in the car, we were in a good position and it was raining more and more. But we are champion now and the car was ok even with the dry set up in those conditions. We had a really good season; the team did a great job with the car and so did Jens. For sure in Portimão we will go for our fourth win of the season and hopefully in the dry!“

Sergio Pianezzola
“The race was extremely difficult; we try to understand until the last moment what was the best tyre choice for the start. At the end we decided to go with the slick. After some laps the engineer ask me when do you want to come in and it was at this exact time that the rain started to pour down heavily. So I think we did the pitstop in the right lap. It was really difficult, and I was so tense because of the conditions. It was a great season for us, it’s fantastic to be champion.”
Giacomo Piccini
“The conditions were really difficult out there, even if we had a good gap it was really hard to keep the car on track and keep the pace. I think it was one of the hardest races of the season and probably of my life! I think that the key of our race was when Sergio decided to pit in to change the tyres at the right time and we gained a good advantage. It was not easy with the LMP3, some of them were slower so we had to be careful when overtaking them. The car was amazing as usual, Kessel did an incredible job, as did Sergio. The whole season was amazing, and it feels great to be champions.”
