Michelin Le Mans Cup: What’s new in the 2022 regulations

The Series will visit as usual Le Castellet, Le Mans, Spa-Francorchamps and Portimão, with Hungaroring and Imola added to the coming calendar.

As every year, the regulations have been updated, so let’s have a look to some of the main changes:

1. The Bronze tests are now extended to 40 minutes whereas every Michelin Le Mans Cup races, except Road To Le Mans will now last 1h50 with only one mandatory pitstops (instead of 2 in 2021).
2. In LMP3, when a penalty is given to a team in addition to a pitstop, this penalty is added to the minimum pitstop time. This means that if a car is given a penalty, it has to do its pitstop in the window of the minimum pitstop time and then do its penalty.
3. A refuelling and a driver change must only be done during a pitstop respecting the minimum pitstop time.
4. Concerning the race, a car that does not take the start for any reason, will now be authorised to take part in the race, even if it goes on track after three hours of racing. There won’t be any limit in the time to join the race, as it has been the case in previous seasons.
5. Minimum driving time: 45 minutes
6. The Pitstop Handicap Time (PSHT) will be determined later in the season with a Committee Decision.
